videotape of the plastic bag blowing in the wind? Remember how it
made you feel? Oddly, it made you sad, didn't it? Not a hopeless sort
of sad, but moving, poignant. Why had you forgotten to appreciate the
beauty in everyday life? Why had you let your trivial pursuits and
meaningless standards blind you to your own insignificance? Didn't
the wind's way with the bag make you feel simultaneously small and
inspired? One Day I'll Be on Time will make you feel that same
beautiful sadness, and it may inspire revelations as well. This
instrumental solo project of intricate string arrangements from
Tristeza's Jimmy LaValle is moving, like a soundtrack to your dreams.
With mesmerizing layers of guitar, bass, drum samples and keyboards
(all played by LaValle), this is music to get lost to, music for
questioning what, exactly, you're doing with your time here on earth.
Melding spacey electronica with traditional piano and ambient guitar
sounds, the music flows like, well, a plastic bag caught in the wind.
