	Something's Gotta Give
	Nancy Meyers Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton, Keanu Reeves, Frances McDormand, Amanda Peet, Jon Favreau 2003		Sublime bastard of the silver screen Jack Nicholson shifts into his rascally mode in the likable romantic comedy "Something's Gotta Give," which lampoons the actor's satyr-ical public persona, then offers up a blithe sex-for-seniors seminar. Writer/director Nancy Meyers takes the film beyond sit-common gags and simple sentiment, but it might've fallen apart had Nicholson not been matched in comedic skills, timing and fire by co-star and fellow old pro Diane Keaton. Nicholson is close to home as Harry Langer, a wealthy entrepreneur and serial seducer of women under 30. When Harry works his wiles on a nubile New York babe (Amanda Peet), he doesn't expect to meet a more perfect match in her mom, fastidious playwright Erica Barry (Keaton). Harry would never consider dating a woman near to his own age, until he has a heart attack that throws him and Erica together for a week in her beach house. Although Harry may be too set in his lecherous ways to embrace a peer like Erica, chemistry happens. But Harry's handsome young doctor (Keanu Reeves) also covets Erica. Obviously, something's gotta give in this grown-up farce that celebrates elder sexuality. With the superlative Frances McDormand as Erica's acerbic sister.
