The glossy, uneven comedy "New Suit" goes where plenty have gone before — Tinseltown boardrooms and watering holes — but there's value in its revision of "The Emperor's New Clothes." Kevin (Jordan Bridges) is an aspiring, frustrated screenwriter who takes a job as an assistant at a production company. A glorified gofer, he plays a prank on some fellow assistants by talking up a hot script ... that doesn't exist. Rumors of the imaginary screenplay and its chimerical writer reach Hollywood power-brokers, creating a frenzy to acquire the property. Even Jordan's ambitious ex-girlfriend Marianne (Marisa Coughlan) and intimidating boss (Dan Hedaya) are taken in by the hoax. "New Suit" director François Velle and scribe Craig Sherman are well versed in the industry's lingo, pecking order and perversity. The insider flavor is savory enough to earn an endorsement for the film. Heather Donahue and Charles Rocket lead an apt supporting cast.
