	Lucía, Lucía
	Antonio Serrano Cecilia Roth, Carlos Alvarez-Novoa, Kuno Becker 2003		Passionate Argentine actress Cecilia Roth ("All About My Mother") has screen presence to burn, but her personal magnetism doesn't make the dawdling, occasionally incoherent Mexican production "Lucía, Lucía" any more attractive. Roth plays Lucía, an author whose husband disappears at the airport minutes before the couple is scheduled to fly to Brazil for a New Year's holiday. Scared and unprepared for trauma, Lucía still tries to unravel the mystery of the missing mate. When she realizes that he may have been kidnapped, she's torn between accommodating the police and her husband's abductors. Lucía 's dilemma leads her to rely on two of her neighbors, a wise old man (Carlos Alvarez-Novoa) and a handsome young stud (Kuno Becker), who both covet her. Seen from Lucía 's perspective, fantasy and reality shift as she tries to remake herself and her circumstances using her overactive imagination. But, even in a situation where things change according to a character's whim, there has to be some measure of internal logic. And "Lucía, Lucía" is deficient in the logic department. Writer/director Antonio Serrano should have tried to make tangible sense out of his heroine's nonsense.
