	Jet Lag
	Daniele Thompson Juliette Binoche, Jean Reno 2002		It's always interesting to come upon a foreign film that appears custom-designed to be remade by Hollywood. The slight, unassuming romantic comedy "Jet Lag" is basically a vehicle for French superstars Juliette Binoche and Jean Reno, but you don't have to be an uncreative, avaricious studio head to see Julia Roberts and George Clooney in the roles. Binoche and Reno play mismatched travelers who meet cute 'n' prickly when their respective plane flights are grounded for the night at DeGaulle airport outside of Paris. She's Rose, an effusive hairdresser/cosmetician, constantly tending to her flawless 'do and makeup. He's Felix, a carelessly turned out, unsociable chef who's made a career for himself in the United States. She's escaping an abusive boyfriend by flying to Mexico; he's on his way to Munich where he'll be reunited with a woman that he believes is the one for him. No surprises here. In typical fashion, it's a matter of hours before Rose and Felix, thrown together by fate, will realize they're falling in love. Then, it's a question of resolution: where, when and how they end up together. If "Jet Lag" doesn't lag, it's only because of its stars' palpable charisma.
