"Just Married" teams hunky Ashton Kutcher (doofus pretty-boy from the half-witted teen comedy "Dude, Where's My Car?" and the satisfyingly silly TV sitcom "That '70s Show") with edgy, easy-on-the-eyes Brittany Murphy (the slightly trashy sex-bomb of the Eminem movie "8 Mile" and the Michael Douglas thriller "Don't Say a Word"). In this sporadically funny, formulaic, throwaway romantic comedy, the cute 'n' appealing Kutcher and Murphy are young, mismatched newlyweds whose honeymoon in the Alps and Venice is a series of calamities, heavy on the slapstick. It's simply a variation on "National Lampoon's European Vacation," mining laughs from clueless Americans abroad, for high-school kids who watch Kutcher on "That '70s Show." Tom (Kutcher) is a near-broke jock and part-time radio announcer; Sarah (Murphy) is an educated rich girl from a class-conscious Beverly Hills family. They meet clumsily, fall in love, and shock her family and her conniving, power-brokering ex-suitor by marrying. The marriage is tested by their trip to Europe. Moral: If Tom wasn't such an unsophisticated blockhead, there'd be no movie.
