Even if it's a step up from the ninth entry ("Insurrection"), "Nemesis" has plot holes the size of photon-torpedo hull breaches. Flaws aside, there are enough notable character moments and warp-speed action scenes to endorse this voyage of the Starship Enterprise. Capt. Jean-Luc Picard (a dignified, imposing Patrick Stewart) leads a mission to broker peace between the noble Federation and the scurrilous Romulan Empire. But an enemy (Tom Hardy) with a shocking origin has formulated a plot to destroy Picard and Earth. The usual crew is, reassuringly, on board: lovable android Data (Brent Spiner), Comdr. Will Riker (Jonathan Frakes), Klingon warrior Worf (Michael Dorn), counselor Deanna Troi (Marina Sirtis), engineer Geordie LaForge (LeVar Burton) and Dr. Crusher (Gates McFadden). Bonus for fans: Cameos by Whoopi Goldberg and Kate Mulgrew.
