An agreeable wedding of romantic comedy and drama, "The Last Kiss" is an Italian movie about the consequences of irresponsible lust — a dilemma that crosses generations. The characters are numerous in this efficiently interlaced ensemble pic. They range from teenaged to middle-aged, and their relationship issues differ. But ultimately, they each must take stock of their actions and answer for any bad behavior — the young leaving behind the carefree attitudes of youth and accepting the burdens of adulthood, the old reconciling the choices they made earlier in life. So Carlo (Stefano Accorsi), freaking out over the prospect of marrying his lovely, pregnant girlfriend Giulia (Giovanna Mezzogiorno), is tempted to bed a teenage beauty (Martina Stella). Carlo's pals Adriano, Paolo and Alberto are having second thoughts about their sex lives. Even Giulia's mom (Stefania Sandrelli) is dissatisfied with her marriage and longing for the man that got away. "The Last Kiss" won a slew of Italian film awards, for good reason.
